It's a handy little tractor. But on an old model, a breakdown can quickly turn into a headache! Philippe Jargot didn't have this problem: the farmer called on Alberto Motors to replace the engine on his farm valet, whose cylinder head had cracked.
Paul Varlet, Alberto Motors: How do you maintain your equipment fleet?
Philippe Jargot: We have four tractors, two telescopic handlers, a loader and a farm valet. The latter is a 1990 Strigiel. It's small, and it's the only machine that can go everywhere in my buildings. It's the only one I look after myself. The other machines are leased, and the monthly rate includes maintenance. Technicians come on site to run electronic diagnostics on the machines and carry out maintenance.
Paul Varlet: When your farmhand's cylinder head cracked, what solutions did you envisage?
Philippe Jargot: I use this farm valet every day. Its small size is very practical, and it saves us a lot of time. My brother and I immediately thought of changing the engine, because a new valet is expensive and the machine was still in good condition. This solution was less expensive and gave it back its value, in case we wanted to sell it second-hand later on.

The platform for diesel engine replacement solutions for agricultural, construction and industrial machinery.
Paul Varlet: Why did you choose Alberto Motors?
Philippe Jargot: First of all, I contacted the manufacturer, Strigiel, who didn't have a solution, as the valet was over twenty years old. So I typed in the motor reference on the Internet, which led me directly to your site. I called and they got back to me right away. It's nice when you prefer to talk face-to-face, as I do, to get information quickly. As a result, I didn't even look at other second-hand sites. The contact was so good that I felt really confident.
Paul Varlet: How was your experience with our company?
Philippe Jargot: As far as I'm concerned, I'm very happy all round! It only took two months from my phone call to the standard exchange. The engine was guaranteed for three months. At the time, the extended warranty wasn't an option, but it could have interested me, as could payment in 10 instalments. In any case, the after-sales service is very efficient. I recently had to change a part: the after-sales team found photos of the old engine, which I had given them, so I was able to order the right part number.
Philippe Jargot's farm is located in Anthon, on the border between Isère and Rhône. "I was a dairy farmer for a long time, but I was working a lot for too little pay. I stopped dairy farming in 2013 to start composting, then fattening beef cattle as my main activity. It's a workshop with between 500 and 600 animals. I work with my brother on the breeding side, plus an employee on the composting side.
